Training Staff

Tom Imdieke

Tom is the owner of Line Drive Sports and has coached from youth to the Legion level for many years. He has also been an active pitching and hitting instructor in the area.  Tom has played organized baseball for over 35 years and continues to play in the senior men’s amateur leagues.

Jeremy Schauer

 Graduated from Johnson Sr. High School where he played baseball through the years.  Jeremy continued on to play adult softball, including fastpitch.  He is currently in his 13th year of coaching softball.  Throughout his years of coaching, he has coached many different ages with 13 of the girls going on to play college softball.  Some of the teams that Jeremy has been able to coach are Phalen Lake Area J, Forest Lake, Johnson High School, and the Minnesota Snocatz; where he had been the last four years.  All with winning many tournaments, some including State Championships and a USSSA World Series 4th place finish!  I plan on having many more years coaching and teaching girls about the world of SOFTBALL! 

John Henry Abercrombie Jr.

In college, he won two national titles and was voted 1st team all tournament team outfielder.  Starting in 1990, John played 6 years as a professional ball player: 4 with the San Diego Padres, 1 with the Cincinnati Reds, and 1 with the Corpus Christi Barracudas.  He also played 2 years for Bruce Bochy, the manager of the World Series Champions the San Francisco Giants.  John has played baseball in the California, Midwest, and Texas leagues and has recently played with Amateur St. Paul Saints, Metro Merchants, and the Minnetonka Saints.  Won 3 league championships with the Minnetonka Saints and voted to the All-Star team as the starting catcher with the Merchants.  John has thousands of hours training young athletes in both softball and baseball, both in large or small groups.  Also, John is currently the Mounds View High School assistant coach. This is John's 3rd year as an instructor with us. 

Joe Boyce

A new addition this year; Joe and his training company, Boyceball Baseball Training, has joined forces with Line Drive Sports.  Joe was an all-star shortstop at Coon Rapids High School, an infielder for 5 years with the Minnesota Twins, Boise Hawks, and the Erie Sailors professional organizations.  He has also been a high school baseball coach and a hitting/fielding instructor for 17 years. 

Jeff Dainty

Another new addition, Jeff also comes to us from Boyceball Baseball Training.  He is a graduate from Blaine High School and was an All Conference college MIAC pitcher for two years.  Jeff has been a high school varsity baseball coach and pitching instructor for 17 years. 

Seth Rosin

Graduated from Mounds View High School where he was named All-State, All-Area, and All-Conference as a senior and was Honorable Mention All-Big Ten as a junior.  At the U of M, as a sophomore, he was named Second-Team All-Big Ten and emerged as one of the key starters as a power pitcher.  Seth was drafted in the 28th round by the Minnesota Twins in 2007.  He is now with the San Fransisco Giants.  Seth has trained here at Line Drive Sports for many years and is now back for his 2nd year as an instructor.

Ethan Imdieke

Graduated from Totino Grace High School in 2009 where he was a two time All-Conference middle infielder.  Ethan is now a junior at Augsburg College and has been playing college baseball for 3 years.  Ethan has been a speed and conditioning, pitching, and hitting instructor here at Line Drive Sports for 5 years now.

Amy Simmer

Amy has been a personal trainer for 10 years and her approach is to integrate health and fitness into all aspects of her clients' lives.  Her qualifications include a 2-year degree in Health Sciences, ACE Certified Personal Trainer since 2001 and certifications in injury management, cardio kickboxing, and pilates.  Amy really enjoys the effect that training has on people-they become happier and healthier...that is very rewarding!
